After a mature performance, the German team clearly wins 5-1 against Australia thanks to five goals scored.
The DANAS got off to a perfect start and put Australia under pressure from the start. The DHB selection was rewarded for their courageous offensive play in the early stages. Sophia Schwabe first took the first German penalty corner in the 8th minute and shortly afterwards a seven meter penalty for the German team. Jette Fleschütz stepped up and scored with a dry, half-high shot into the left corner to make it 1-0 for DANAS. A short time later, Germany followed suit in the person of Johanna Hachenberg. She brought a deflected cross from Fleschütz with a backhand shot onto the Australian goal and her finish found the net (10th). But the DANAS weren't satisfied yet and completed the early hat-trick. In the hustle and bustle after a German attack down the side, Felicia Wiedermann intervened and made it 3-0 with the backhand side of her racket. While the German team had struggled to score goals the day before, today they scored three goals in the first quarter of an hour. Shortly afterwards, goalkeeper Finja Starck, who replaced Nathalie Kubalski in goal, was able to distinguish herself for the first time and reacted excellently to the follow-up shot after an Australian penalty corner.
While the Australians had hardly found any way to escape the pressure in the first quarter, they came into the game better in the second quarter. After a quick attack, Olivia Downes shortened the score to 1:3 with her finish and briefly brought the Hockeyroos back into the game. The DANAS survived a pressure phase with a number of Australian penalty corners and continued to show their grip in the attacking press on the other side of the ball.
