The Orange Women also won their second Pro League match against Ireland on Sunday afternoon without any problems. In Rotterdam, national coach Raoul Ehren's team was too strong this time with 4-0, after Saturday's resounding 7-0. Yibbi Jansen, Frédérique Matla, Joosje Burg and Felice Albers provided the production for the Dutch team, which further strengthened its leading position in the Pro League.
The Dutch team had changed in four places compared to the first game with the Irish women on Saturday (7-0 win). Sisters Pien and Jip Dicke, Pien Sanders and Lisa Post watched from the stands. In their place, Fay van der Elst, Eline Jansen, Daantje de Kruijff and Danique van der Veerdonk made their first appearance this weekend. The match also had a special touch for defender Sanne Koolen: she played her 150th international match for the Dutch team.
It was thanks to the excellent Micklem that the score did not increase further early in the first half. She made a few good saves from penalty corners by Jansen and also defused two attempts at goal by Marijn Veen. Yet the Dutch team further increased the margin. Joosje Burg fumbled the ball over the line in two instances for the 3-0, after a nice pass from Eline Jansen straight through the axis of the circle.
