The Argentine Hockey Confederation closed the first phase of the 2026 Superliga by confirming the clubs moving on toward the final phase. From 13 to 17 May, simultaneous tournaments were played around the country to sort out the strongest teams in the national calendar.
In the women's side, Rosario hosted two championships: Mar del Plata beat URU CURE RC on shoot-outs after a 2-2 draw in zone 1, and Universitario de Cordoba defeated San Juan RC 2-1 in zone 4. Monte Hermoso also won 5-0 against Universitario RC de Salta in zone 2, while Atletico Rosario edged Banco Provincial 5-4 in zone 3.
In the men's competition, the CAH notes that the 32 phase-one teams are split between categories A and B, each divided into two championships. The Superliga A champions qualify directly for the 2027 final phase and the runners-up secure a place for their association, so this opening round already reshapes a large part of Argentina's competitive map.
