June 23, 2026 Red Panthers win shoot-outs after an exciting duel with Australia After the narrow 2-3 defeat against Argentina, the Red Panthers once again faced a tough assignment on Tuesday evening in the Belfius Hockey Arena in Wavre. Opponent Australia remains a fixture in international hockey, but the Belgians started the match with great conviction.

The Panthers also quickly took the lead. In the first minutes they scored a penalty corner and Stephanie Vanden Borre immediately converted it into the 1-0. Belgium continued to put pressure and got another penalty corner, but it did not result in a second goal. Australia also received a penalty corner in the first quarter, but the Belgian lead remained intact.

In the second quarter, the Red Panthers took more possession of the ball. The Belgian team tried to make the play, but Australia struck efficiently. Alice Arnott tied the game and made it 1-1. Belgium then had two more penalty corners, but could not find the opening. Both teams went into halftime with an equal score.
