Finals weekend at Surbiton quickly produced the kind of bracket England Hockey wanted: heavyweights survived where expected, Wimbledon broke through where it mattered most, and the title matches were left with a clear mix of pedigree and fresh momentum. The semi-final day did not crown anyone yet, but it did reshape the final storylines of the domestic season in a way that felt suitably high stakes.

In the women's competition, Wimbledon reached their first Premier Division final by beating Hampstead & Westminster 2-0, with Becky Manton taking over the second half after a balanced opening spell dominated by two goalkeepers. Surbiton then handled Durham University 3-0 through goals from Eloise Stenner, Darcy Bourne and Amy Costello. Durham left with credit after reaching Finals weekend in their first Premier Division season, but Surbiton moved on to a remarkable 12th consecutive final.

The open/men's semi-finals were even louder. Wimbledon ended Surbiton's 100 per cent winning run with a 4-2 victory built on an early response from Euan Gilmour and a decisive surge driven by Sam Hooper and Duncan Scott. Old Georgians then beat Hampstead & Westminster 3-1, helped by Sam Ward's early strike and first-half goals from Tom and James Carson. By the end of the day the finals picture was set: Surbiton and Wimbledon in the women's decide, Old Georgians and Wimbledon in the men's, with league titles and European places now one step away.
