Belgium can now start measuring summer with a real calendar
Hockey Belgium has published the Red Giants program for the first FIH Para Hockey World Cup, a tournament that will be played from August 20 to 25, 2026 between Louvain-la-Neuve and Amstelveen and that will close its last day in the World Cup stadiums, including the Belfius Hockey Arena. For Belgium, the news is not only administrative: it makes next summer an already completely visible objective.
The Red Giants will start at home, on the fields of Louvain-la-Neuve HC, in pool A with rivals such as Italy, Germany, France, Pakistan, Zambia, Paraguay and the United States.
The 6 on 6 format and the density of the schedule will force you to manage energy and goal difference almost from the first day.
The federation positions the tournament as a historic opportunity because it is the first Para Hockey World Cup with the FIH seal.
The important thing here is that Belgium no longer sees the tournament as a distant idea. He has rivals, he has dates and he even has a competitive framework that forces him to think from now on about rotation, intensity and real ambition. That change of scale is, in itself, the news.
