The first real gaps are appearing early in Ranchi
India's Sub Junior Women's National Championship has already produced a third day full of goals and one-sided scorelines. Hockey India's official report paints a tournament that is still in its opening phase, but already beginning to separate the more dominant teams within each section.
Hockey Jammu and Kashmir defeated Rajasthan 14-0, one of the most emphatic scorelines in the official bulletin.
Hockey Himachal beat Gujarat 11-0, while Goans Hockey defeated Kerala 2-0 and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu did the same against Delhi.
The mixture of blowouts and tighter games confirms that the championship has opened with very different tempos across the states, something common in broad, tiered tournaments like this one.
In this kind of championship, early results do more than shape the table: they also measure squad depth, consistency and the ability to sustain effort across several consecutive days. Ranchi is already offering those clues.
