The nomination window for the England Hockey Awards enters its final stretch

Last call to recognise the season

England Hockey has started the final countdown for its annual awards. The federation reminded the sport this week that nominations close on Sunday 12 April at 23:59, ahead of a ceremony to be held on 6 June at the Athena in Leicester.

The ceremony will honour 18 categories and once again place players, coaches, umpires, clubs, volunteers and community projects on the same stage.

The reminder is designed to mobilise clubs and local communities so the nominations do not stay confined to elite performance, but reflect the full English hockey ecosystem.

The deadline adds urgency to a process that works, in practice, as a snapshot of which stories and profiles the federation wants to celebrate at the end of the season.

More than a simple administrative reminder, England Hockey's message defines what the organisation currently considers worthy of recognition: performance, yes, but also grassroots work, officiating, volunteering and the club fabric that carries the game every weekend.
